What to Expect During a Session
Laser hair removal is more than just removing unwanted hair — it’s a medical procedure
that requires special training and skill. Here’s a simple breakdown of how your session will go:
Before the Session
Before treatment, you’ll have a consultation to discuss your hair, skin type, and concerns. Just before the procedure, the area will be cleaned and trimmed, numbing cream applied, and both you and your technician will wear safety goggles. A cooling gel or device is also used to protect your skin from heat.
During the Session
Silken Touch Aesthetics will use a handheld laser machine and pass the beam through your skin. Laser hair removal is generally termed as a less painful procedure, but possibly a cooling effect from the cooling gel. Treating a smaller area may take a few minutes, while treating a larger area may take more than an hour.
After the Session
You might notice mild redness and swelling on the treated area for a few hours after the session. Using ice is recommended for soothing inflammation. A wait of 4–6 weeks is advisable between sessions to allow proper skin recovery. During this time, it’s also best to avoid direct sun exposure and apply sunscreen.
